GLBT Cultural Center

The mission of the GLBT Cultural Center is to serve as a unifying focal point for Houston’s diverse GLBT communities, and to provide a home for the nurture and celebration of our organizations, institutions and culture.  Located in the heart of Houston’s historic Montrose neighborhood at 401 Branard Street on the first floor, the “Center” is the primary gathering place for dozens of organizations and receives over 300 visitors per week.

Features

  • 6,800 square feet of meeting space – including small and mid-size conference rooms, and a 4,019 square foot event hall
  • common kitchenette area with sink, refrigerator and ice machine
  • common and private/accessible restrooms
  • free on-site parking for up to 120 vehicles, with designated disabled spaces and ample adjacent street parking
  • elevator and stair access

A rotating exhibit chronicling the history of Houston’s GLBT movement is on continuous display throughout the Center’s common areas, courtesy of Gulf Coast Archives & Museum of GLBT History.
